VERITAS- Civil Litigation Verification Engine

VERITAS is an AI-powered verification engine for Indian civil litigation. It verifies whether legal propositions, case citations, statutory references, and CPC procedural claims in AI-assisted legal drafts are actually supported by authoritative sources.

Unlike a legal chatbot, VERITAS does not generate legal arguments. It analyses a draft, identifies substantive-law and procedural propositions, verifies citations, retrieves relevant provisions and judgments, and classifies each claim as Supported, Partially Supported/Overstated, Contradicted, or Unverifiable.

The MVP focuses on the Indian Contract Act, Specific Relief Act, and five high-value CPC areas: institution of suits, pleadings, written statements, interim injunctions, and res judicata. Every verdict is linked to evidence from the underlying source so the lawyer can independently review it.
