Lawyers, advocates, legal proffesionals, law students and others in the legal field waste hours digging through messy folders, trying to recall whether a critical piece of evidence was hidden in a memo, an exhibit or an old draft. Traditional desktop search stops at the filename or drops you onto page 1 of a massive PDF, forcing you to manually re-read documents to find what you need.
This project is a local-first document workspace designed specifically for legal work. It organizes files by matter, automatically categorizes them and enables deep full-tex passage search across entire case files.
Instead of returning a vague list of files, the app identifies the exact matching excerpt, highlights key terms and jumps directly to the source passage in the document. Operating entirely on your local machine with SQLite-powered index, it requires zero cloud APIs, no external LLMs and no internet access thereby gauranteeing complete client confidentiality and zero data leakage. When advanced AI search is required, it offers flexible Bring Your Own API extensibility - allowing teams to securely connect to their firm's approved cloud API or private LLM provider without compromising underlying worflow control and ensure privacy.
