Turn scope creep into approved, billable legal work.

About the Project

ScopeGuard is an AI-powered scope and revenue protection tool for law firms, legal consultancies and in-house legal teams.

Legal matters rarely expand through one large, clearly defined request. More often, scope creep happens through a series of small client instructions: an additional contract review, another revision, an extra stakeholder call, a new jurisdiction or a request for further advice.

The work is often completed before the engagement scope, fee estimate or client approval has been updated. Lawyer time, partner oversight, internal coordination and legal project management are particularly easy to overlook. This creates fee leakage, write-offs, unclear client expectations and avoidable billing disputes.

ScopeGuard compares a new client instruction with the agreed matter scope and explains whether the request appears to be included, out of scope or requires further information.

When additional work is identified, ScopeGuard:

• Breaks the request into legal and project-management activities • Estimates the additional hours by role • Applies the relevant team or matter rates • Calculates the potential fee and timeline impact • Generates a clear change request • Tracks estimated and actual time • Highlights approved work that has not yet been invoiced

The dashboard gives firms a live overview of captured revenue, unbilled work, revenue leakage, pending requests and matters ready for invoicing.

All AI-generated assessments and estimates remain editable by the legal professional. ScopeGuard supports professional judgment rather than replacing it.

The result is earlier scope conversations, clearer fee expectations, a stronger audit trail and less time spent reconstructing work at the end of the billing cycle.
