About the Project

Consumers and SMEs are increasingly using ChatGPT, Claude and other general purpose LLM chat apps as their starting point for legal advice.

Legal MCP is a prototype for bringing a law firm’s domain knowledge into the user’s own chat window via Model Context Protocol.

It allows clients to self-serve based on reliable legal knowledge, with the ability to escalate to a lawyer where the risk or strategic importance demands it.

Practice Areas

Key Features

  • Built with Model Context Protocol (“MCP”) – allowing it to plug into ChatGPT, Claude & others.

  • Skills via MCP – import skills (e.g. “legal drafting”) on the fly, providing generic guidance to the LLM on “legal soft skills”.

  • Retrieve template agreement – retrieve the best-fit template agreement as a starting point for the LLM to take over.

  • Finesse requirements – provides guidance to the LLM on what information is relevant to help assist it ask the right questions and complete a template agreement correctly (based on contract type).

  • Escalate to lawyer – when finished with a Legal MCP assisted task, allows the user to ping it to a lawyer for QA.
