About the Project

Is This Billable? is a lightweight, AI-powered assistant designed to help lawyers sanity-check whether a task is likely billable in a law firm context.

Users can paste a short description, email, or message from their day and receive a clear, practical assessment - including a billable / borderline / non-billable verdict, a plain-English explanation, suggested time-entry wording (where appropriate), and common write-off risks.

The tool is intentionally conservative and supportive, aimed at reducing uncertainty for junior lawyers while reflecting how billing decisions are typically reviewed in practice. It is designed as a general, educational aid rather than billing advice.
