About the Project

A free tool that helps renters in England and Wales find out, in seconds, whether they have a legal claim — without paying for a solicitor. You describe what's happening with your home in plain words (damp that won't get fixed, a deposit that was never protected, an eviction that doesn't feel right), and the app tells you three things: the right that protects you and the law behind it, the deadline that matters, and a ready-to-send letter drafted for you, citing the correct legislation.

Most legal AI is built for lawyers. This points the technology the other way — at the person with the problem, at the moment they have it — to close the access-to-justice gap for the millions who never act on a valid claim simply because they don't know they have one. It's general information, not legal advice, and signposts users to Shelter, Citizens Advice, and legal aid for expert help.
