Substantiate

Train your lawyers to proof AI-generated documentation

Gallery

About the Project

Substantiate is a high-fidelity training platform for junior lawyers to learn how to critique, verify, and improve AI-generated legal work product through simulated exercises with planted errors and rich reviewing.

Substantiate not only focuses on testing a reviewer on whether statutes, laws and case law the AI generates is real or not - it does via connection to real sources - but also tests on building the strongest arguments within the documentation.

The app generates pre-built memos, litigation filings and any other type of legal documentation you'd like. You can have Substantiate build custom docs based on your prompts. The reviewer will review the documents in detail and find errors and give their reasoning for the errors. Substantiate will then grade the editing and give feedback to the reviewer.

The examples seem to be pretty good in both creating the AI-generated documentation as well as the grading by the "Senior Partner" reviewer.

Practice Areas

Key Features

  • A tutoring system for training junior lawyers on reviewing and bettering AI-generated legal documentation
  • AI-generated or custom prompted writing samples to test on
  • Gamification of the testing to go through training levels which could be developed into a certification-like program
  • Upload your own documents and have Substantiate audit your document to validate case law and build the strongest arguments

Help Needed

This was a fun first attempt at vibe coding on Google's AI Studio for me! I essentially took the Legal Training written prompt and with minor edits got started and iterated for a bit. The live connection to laws and cases was just automagically done for me...that was my biggest shock!

If anyone sees this as potentially truly useful to them, please feel free to reach out and let's see if we can make it into a real "thing".
