To be candid, the most novel aspect of this tool is how it was built. There are many software billing tools on the market that are mature and tested and Billet isn't intending to compete with those. At the same time, building an internal legal tech stack may be increasingly appealing for some practitioners.
Billet has an AI-assisted fee proposal generator, drawing on learnings from previous matters but the application doesn't incorporate other AI features at this time. A future version might link to client onboarding applications or accounting software. Billet was designed to assist record keeping requirements with multiple report functions for time, billing, and disbursements, with clear matter number references.
