Jev is the new AI model from TypeSafe built for fast, low-cost classification and decision-making. What could you build with it for legal work?
Give Jev text and a focused question, and it returns a choice, score, or probability that your app can use. That opens up possibilities across document review, contract analysis, matter management, and more.
The challenge
Build a working prototype that uses Jev to solve a practical problem in legal work. Pick something repetitive, time-consuming, or frustrating, and show how your tool makes it easier.
A few ideas to get you started:
- Tabular document review. Evaluate documents against a common set of questions and display the results side by side, with columns for clause types, issue flags, or review priorities.
- Contract screening. Check clauses against defined playbook criteria and flag potential deviations for a lawyer to review.
- Request triage. Classify incoming legal requests by topic, urgency, or the team best placed to respond.
- Matter updates. Turn emails and messages into suggested task-status changes, blocker alerts, or follow-up actions.
- Scope monitoring. Compare new requests with the agreed scope of work and highlight potential additions.
Use one of these ideas or bring your own. You can build with Jev alone or combine it with other models and tools.
What to share
Share your prototype or a short demo. Explain who it helps, what information it uses, and how Jev contributes to the result. Show how your tool handles uncertainty and when it asks for human review.
Keep your first version focused. One useful feature is enough.
